Over the last Christmassy week, I've had many things to be thankful for because of the many many hours spent with my boy & his family.(:
Before we went on the trip, I hurt my ankle & it gave me the chance to be looked after by him non-stop. He'd grab my bags so I didn't have to when we were travelling. Each night he would rub my sprained ankle & back later after I fell off a horse.
He helped me wash my muddy jacket cause I had burns on my hands & gave up his jacket in a heartbeat to keep me warm because mine was still wet & it was raining.
When I slept in the hall cause I didn't want to wake his family, he slept on the floor all night by my side so that I wouldn't be lonely and so he could take care of me. He covered me in a jacket so that I wouldn't be cold, but he was too cold to sleep himself.
He's the same boy who carries my bag because it's too heavy for me. In fact, he carries the bags and umbrella because he wants me to offer him moral support whilst we take a long walk. He'd send me home after a long day, no matter the weather, even if he's not feeling too well.
I'm thankful that this boy knows when to accommodate and give in, especially when he wants to sulk... But I'm crying. He won't hesitate to hold my hand, hug me & apologize.
Im thankful for the boy who brings me porridge the first thing I wake up because he knows I'd be cranky without food. In fact, he always has bribe and would willingly share his cookie jar with me.
I'm thankful for the boy that knows it's nap time and exactly what I need to sleep - my pillow, doll & blankie.
This year's Christmas wasn't spent with my family & there was no ham or presents at midnight. But it was still pretty magical to me... Watching fireflies on a special Christmas Eve with my boy especially when we know what this year's Christmas means to us both...
Thankkew for everything... Even the all-expenses-paid-for-shopping-trip and the coming birthday trip I know you're planning for me...(:
I'm thankful for you, Melvin.
XOXO,
Sarah
